How to play
800 Pound Gorilla Board Game
2 to 6 players, age 8 and up.
We designed 800 Pound Gorilla for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up. In our fast-paced game, you take turns spinning the spinner, completing actions, grabbing items, and estimating gorilla sizes. Rounds move fast as you compete to collect the most banana points.
Setup and Match Length
Place the gorilla cards and the spinner in the middle of the play area where all players can reach them. You can adjust the length of the match based on your schedule. Put out fewer gorilla cards on the table for a faster match, or put out more gorilla cards if you want a longer session.
Spinning the Spinner
Players take turns at the spinner. When it is your turn, spin the spinner to see what challenge comes up. The result directs players to complete an action, read a phrase, or evaluate gorilla cards on the table.
Grabbing and Sizing
Points are scored in two distinct ways during the game. First, players compete to be the fastest to grab a banana or coconut after performing a designated action or phrase. Second, players score by correctly guessing and ranking the size of the gorilla cards, which look very similar to one another.
Winning the Game
Throughout the match, successful grabs and correct size estimates award banana points. Once the game ends, players count up their total score. The player with the most banana points wins the game.
