Steal the Bacon Card Game
3 to 6 players, age 7 and up.
We created Steal the Bacon for 3 to 6 players ages 7 and up. In our breakfast card game, players flip food cards while chanting words in sequence. When matching foods or action cards appear, players race to grab the toy bacon from the center of the table to earn bacon cards from the pan.
Contents and Setup
Our game includes 81 food cards, 30 bacon cards, and 1 toy bacon. Shuffle and distribute the breakfast food cards evenly among players to form face down stacks. It does not matter if card counts differ slightly. Place the toy bacon in the center of the table and place the bacon cards off to the side in the bacon pan.
How to Play
The player to the dealer left starts. Moving clockwise, players take turns flipping the top card from their deck face up into a personal pile. Cards must be flipped outward without peeking beforehand. Players chant the phrase Steal, The, Bacon in order, with each player speaking one word on their turn as they play a card.
Grabbing the Bacon
If the food on a flipped card matches another player card, only those matching players race to grab the bacon. If Bacon Thief appears, all players race to grab it. On Clap Clap Flapjack, all players must clap twice before racing. On Awful Waffle, players must leave the bacon alone. The player who takes the bacon earns a bacon card from the pan and starts the next round by saying Steal. If multiple players grab the bacon at once, it goes to the player with the most bacon coverage.
Penalties and Refills
If a player touches the bacon during an Awful Waffle, grabs the bacon without a match, or flinches by reaching toward the bacon when there is no match, that player must return a bacon card to the bacon pan. When a player runs out of cards in hand, shuffle the face up pile to form a new face down stack.
Winning the Game
The game ends when one player collects 10 bacon cards, or when the last piece of bacon in the bacon pan is taken. The player with the most bacon cards wins.
