We designed Gimme That as a race where only one person can write at a time. Everyone else takes turns rolling the die to steal the single pencil from whoever is marking their sheet. When the pencil symbol rolls, you grab the pencil, shout Gimme That, and count potatoes until the next player rolls the steal.

How to play, step by step

One pencil and one dieThe table shares a single pencil. You write as fast as you can on your sheet while other players pass the die around, trying to roll the pencil symbol to stop your turn and claim the pencil for themselves.

Frantic potato countingYou count potatoes on your page while listening to the die hit the table. The moment another player rolls the pencil, they grab it and shout Gimme That, cutting your turn short mid-stroke.

Table size and ageWe designed the rules for three to eight players, and the box lists ages seven and up. The mechanics take about one minute to explain before the first roll.

Race to the final potatoThe round ends when someone fills in the final potato on their sheet. Because turns switch on every pencil roll, the lead changes quickly and writing speed matters as much as rolling luck.
