Gimme that! Family Party Game
3 to 8 players, age 7 and up.
Gimme That is our fast-paced potato-counting party game for 3 to 8 players, ages 7 and up. Players race to number 100 potatoes on a Spud Sheet, but the whole table shares a single pencil while a die moves rapidly between everyone else.
Setup
We give one Spud Sheet to each player. The person who most recently ate a French fry takes the pencil to start the game. The player sitting to their left takes the die.
Playing the Game
On the count of 1, 2, 3, SPUD, the player holding the pencil begins numbering potatoes on the Spud Sheet in front of them. At the same time, the player with the die rolls it and carries out the action shown. The pencil holder keeps writing without pause. Once the rolled action is resolved, the die passes to the next player on the left, who immediately rolls it.
Die Rolls and Grabbing the Pencil
Each roll triggers a specific shout and group action: Pencil: Shout Gimme That, grab the pencil from the current writer, and start numbering your sheet. Masher: Shout Mashed Potatoes. All players except the writer knock repeatedly on the table with both hands. Left: Shout Left. All players pass their sheet to the left. The writer continues on the new sheet from where the last person stopped. Fist Bump: Shout Spud Bump. All players except the writer fist bump simultaneously. High Five: Shout High Fry. All players except the writer give high fives.
Winning and Variants
The round ends as soon as a player numbers all 100 potatoes on the Spud Sheet currently in front of them. That player wins the game and receives the King Spud sticker. For games with 5 or more players, or when you want a shorter session, you can lower the victory target to 50 potatoes.
